Description
When Mrs Peninah Njoki Njoroge (Mama Mata), a wife, mother and entrepreneur, first arrived in Houston, she knew she'd have to adapt to a new culture and culinary lifestyle; she longed for Kenyan tea, njahi, and other foods from home. With careful research, planning and execution, she started consistently shipping food stuffs and other products from Kenya. As word got out, her circle of friends wanting a piece of Kenya grew and, thus, Mama Mata was born.
The simple idea behind Mama Mata is the importing of everyday products we all miss most from back home: Foods, snacks, fabrics and hair care; products that keep us connected to our roots.
The mission at Mama Mata is: "To bring home closer” which entails bringing Kenyan culture, and everything we love about it closer for one and all to enjoy. To that end, Mama Mata has gone the extra mile to ensure most of your favorite Kenya Foods are available... Just in time for Thanksgiving, Jamhuri Day and Christmas celebrations.
